Bioenterprise is a commercialization agent, established to help promote the creation, growth and expansion of businesses in the Agri-Food, Agri-Life Sciences and Bio-Product Industries in Canada. Bioenterprise acts as coach and catalyst, working with companies, from start-up and early stage to emerging and well-established businesses.

Bioenterprise was invited to visit Chile by the Universidad de Santiago de Chile and Zafiro Consultoria to exchange and transfer good practices as well as to prospect biotech business opportunities that might be of interest to develop in the Canadian and Northamerican markets.

Dave Smardon President of Bioenterprise visited Santiago and Viña del Mar during the first week of August 2010, having held meetings with Chilean biotech companies as EcoTecnos, Grupo Bios, Fundacion Biociencia, Ayslab, Naturalis, Ambiotek, Veterquimica and Biosonda. The agenda included meetings with Chilean Governmental officials and Private Investments funds.

Dave Smardon, President of Bioenterprise highlighted the significant potential of business opportunities between Chile and Canada in the Bio Business field, especially in agribusiness due to some similarities of Chile and Canada and the complementarity of of-seasons harvest of some agricultural products.
